Wi-Fi
There are three main Wi-Fi networks which you should be aware of.
Imperial-WPA
This network is purely for members of Imperial College London. You should be able to log in with your Imperial credentials (e.g. jbloggs8). You may be asked to accept a security certificate from wireless.imperial.ac.uk - please do so.
Android devices may be picky about joining the network. Please ensure that you have the following options set:
- EAP Method: PEAP
- Phase 2 authentication: MSChapV2
- CA Certificate: use system certificates (if this option is not available then select "bypass" or "do not validate", whatever the option is for your device).
- Anonymous identity: anonymous@imperial.ac.uk
EduRoam
This network is purely for visiting academics, i.e. anyone with a .edu or .ac.X email address. They should log in with their fully qualified username (e.g. jbloggs8@ox.ac.uk).
_The Cloud
This network is for guest access. Simply log in with an existing _The Cloud account, or create a new free one using any email address you have. Obviously don't enter an Imperial email address, as in this case you should be using Imperial-WPA.
What about the "Imperial" Wi-Fi network?
This is a legacy network, used by guests before Imperial College London invested in infrastructure with _The Cloud.
