Issues and Workarounds

  • Since Windows 10, the brightness/darkness buttons and functionality for the screen don't work, and it's very dim. The work-around is to install "Hp Mobile Display Assistent" from http://www.portrait.com/dtune/hpm/enu/upgrade.html. When you first install it, it will automatically run and make your eyes feel young again. If it goes dim again after closing that application, rerun C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HP Mobile Display Assistant\dthtml.exe - as administrator, otherwise it does nothing. And the screen should burst into life again.
